Jo Belcher - Yard Owner
Jo was involved with horses from a very young age, having her own pony at 10 years old. She spent days with an eminent horse breeder and producer of Welsh Cobs, Eddie Price, where she learnt a lot of horse handling, breaking and driving. She has driven single horses, and competed in many disciplines and enjoyed riding horses all of this time.
Between the ages of 16-19, Jo rode for 'Billy Smarts Circus' at their training ground in Winkfield Row and appeared in front of the Queen at 'Year of the Child' in Hyde Park. From leaving her convent school at 18, she attended college in order to study a full time Business Higher National Diploma in Business Studies, where she attained a distinction.
In 2000, after working in Motorsport, racing HotRods and vehicle launches or film work and so on, Jo opened a small livery yard in Marlow, providing all the services that she had been looking for over the years. In 2013, the family moved to Loosley Row, and opened Palmers Stud & Livery. Jo has and currently owned 4* eventers, ridden by Ibby MacPherson, achieving top results. Jo and her daughter, Beccy, have produced winners at the RIHS, CHAPS Championships & HOYS.
Jo has wealth of experience and an eye for detail. She has all the credentials to guide and ensure excellent horse care, fitness and nutrition programmes and management of Palmers Stud & Livery equine clients.
